Robert "Robbie" Lee Long, Jr., 53 of Floyd, passed away Friday,
January 26, 2018. He was preceded in death
by his father, Robert Lee Long, Sr. and his brother Keith Long.
Robbie was employed by Lawrence Transportation as a long
distance driver traveling all over the U.S. He was also a life time member of
the Floyd Fire Department, Station 1. He
was quick to help others and never met a stranger. He enjoyed fast cars and racing and always
marched to the beat of his own drum. He
will be missed by so many that will forever love and cherish the time that they
spent together.He is survived by his partner, Donna Chinault; mother, Shirley Page Long; son and daughter-in-law, David L. and Amanda Long; daughter, Louise “Nikki” Long; stepson, Rusty Gaspard; brother, Dana Long; sister, Charleen Rincon; grandchildren, Dakota Rain Yates, Gabriel Grayson Long & Kira; aunts, Linda Duncan (John Paul), Liz Patterson (James), Carol Page; sister-in-law, Carol Sue Long; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 29, 2018 at Maberry Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Dalton officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers family ask that donations be made to the Floyd County Fire Department, Station 1 in memory of Robbie. (Floyd Co. Vol. Fire Dept. PO Box 33, Floyd, VA 24091)
