Paul Wayne Radford


Paul Wayne Radford, 60 of Floyd, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard & Sadie Radford; sister, Alisa Radford; brother, Danny Radford; niece, Rebecca Sink; Mother-in-law, Reda Goad; father-in-law, Joe Turner; grandparents, Swanson & Ethel Radford, Raymond & Loma Martin.

Paul served his country in the Navy for 4 years.  He was a committed employee to Hollingsworth & Vose for 36 years.  Paul was a dedicated family man to his wife, children and granddaughters whom he totally adored.  Paul loved hunting, fishing and riding his Harley.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Debbie Radford; son Josh Radford & fiancĂ©e  Taylor Chitwood, Christiansburg; daughter, Jessica Radford & fiancĂ©, Kevin Flick, Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Kylie & Natalynn; sister, Jane Radford; numerous nieces & nephews; Aunts, Judy Martin, Joyce Duncan, Hazel Marshall,Doris Dickerson (Chris); uncles, Marvin Radford(Jean), Roger Radford (Sally), Owen Martin (Christine); sisters-in-law & spouses, Michelle Hines (Steve), Rhonda Howell (Frank); brothers-in-law, John Goad, Gary Turner, Robert Turner.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Maberry Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Dalton and  Pastor Dewayne Troutt officiating.  Interment will follow at Jacksonville Cemetery with Military Honors.  Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Maberry Funeral Home.

David Earl King





David Earl King, 66 of Copper Hill, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 19, 2017. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Wallace King.         

He was employed by Thomas Brothers, owner of David King Excavating, Clarks Hilltop Nursery & HT Bowling.

David will be deeply missed by his wife of 43 years, Annette W. King; Mother and Stepfather, Mary and Reginald Clark;  Son and Daughter-In-Law,  Chad and  Kay King;  Daughter,  Stacie King Poole; Grandchildren, Callie Eanes, JD King and Emma King; Brother and Sister-In-Law, Bobby and Vanessa Clark; Sister, Carolyn Kidd.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Havens Chapel United Methodist Church with Pastor Darren Landon officiating. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Maberry Funeral Home.

Tony Lewis McDaniel



On Wednesday, August 16, 2017, God called Tony Lewis McDaniel Home for his final rest. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Nadine McDaniel, and a brother Tellis Ira McDaniel.
He attended schools in Floyd County. He was a laborer for various jobs, such as construction, timbering, farming, etc. Tony loved the outdoors, and he did lots of fishing and hunting at every opportunity. He loved to socialize with family, friends, and acquaintances, to keep the laughter and good cheer going. Most of all he loved God.
He attended Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church of Roanoke County where he served as a faithful Deacon, member, and mentor.
He leaves to Cherish his memory, Brother and Sister-In-Law, Perry R. McDaniel & Diane; Sister and Brother-In-Law, Wander Mitchell & James; Nephews, Christian McDaniel & Dawn and Sean McDaniel; Nieces, Connesha Waterfield and Jeanine Burrell & Chuck; a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 21, 2017 at Maberry Funeral Home with Elder Keith Edwards officiating.  Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow in the Little River Cemetery.

Cleo Sylvia "Lucille" Bishop



Cleo Sylvia Bishop (Lucille) went to be with her Lord and Savior August 16, 2017, after a long and courageous battle with scleroderma and other health issues. She was born on May 15, 1943 in McDowell County, WV to Gleve and Ibra (Mitchell) Huff.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Dexter Huff and precious son CPL Steven Jesse Bishop.
Lucille accepted Jesus as her personal savior at the age of 13 and served him until she went home to heaven.  She spent her life being a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and pastor’s wife, working in the ministry with her husband.  She loved to sing for the Lord and play guitar.
Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of 47 years, Clyde H. Bishop; daughters, Angela (Ralph) Poff, Stacy Bishop (Jason Slusher); son, Daniel (Jennifer) Bishop; grandchildren, Lucas Graham (Kayla Underwood), Matthew Bishop, Kaylee Bishop, Jesse Bishop, and Isaac Bishop; step-grandchildren, Jeremiah Poff (Valarie Spangler), Shawnee Poff; step great-grandchild, Valynn Poff; sister-in-law, Selma Huff, of Anawalt WV; sisters, Sadie Moore, Hillsville VA, Betty Branscome, Hillsville VA, Peggy Cox, Floyd VA, Trisha (Jimmy) Birchfield, Isaban, WV; brothers, Tommy (Kathy) Huff, Princeton WV, David (Sherry) Huff, Galax VA; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law,  Lewis & Elizabeth Bane, Parrott VA, Pearlie Taylor, Dugspur VA, Granville and Jill Bishop, Indian Valley VA, Richard & Pat Bishop, Indian Valley VA, Gene and Diane Bishop, Indian Valley VA; host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

O. Wesley Larsen

O. Wesley Larsen, 90, of Stow, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 1, 2017, surrounded by family. He was the loving husband of the late Frances Elizabeth Burnet Larsen.
Born in Chicago, Illinois on February 21, 1927, son of the late Oscar and Clara (Steen) Larsen. Raised and educated in Chicago, Wesley graduated from Norwood Park High School, class of 1945. Upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy, and was stationed in Alabama, where he assisted in helping soldiers return home when they returned from war. He later attended Pennsylvania State University and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts, Class of 1950. On April 24, 1954, Wesley and Frances were married, happily for forty-one years before her passing. Wesley worked as a Professional Industrial Hygienist for 25 years for Insurance Company of North America, Albany, New York, and later for Commercial Union Insurance Company in Boston, Massachusetts, retiring in 1992.
Wesley was first and foremost a family man. He lived for them, especially sharing his love of the outdoors, camping on Lower Saranac Lake in the Adirondacks, fishing, playing tennis and golfing throughout his life.
He is survived by his children Stephen B. Larsen and wife Amy of Fitchburg, MA; Rebecca L. Brave and husband Joe Don Brave of Pawhuska, OK; his two grandchildren Roland Wesley Larsen and Preston Samuel Brave; and his dearest companion Susan Hill, who he enjoyed playing bridge with. Wesley was predeceased by his second wife Margaret (Keener) who is survived by her children Carol S. Lacock and her husband Bob, of Quakertown, PA; Marti S. Cross and her husband Neil of Bellingham, MA; Ann S. Pratt and her husband Douglas of Leyden, MA; and Steve Snook and his wife Ann of Conway, MA and many loving step-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of the Life of O. Wesley Larsen will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Acton Congregation Church, 12 Concord Road, Acton Massachusetts, 01720. All are welcome to attend.
Gifts in his name may be sent to the Council on Aging, 509 Great Road Stow, MA 01775-1054.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Linda Motley officiating. The interment will follow in the Jacksonville cemetery.

David A. Ingram




David A. Ingram, 88, passed away Saturday August 5, 2017 after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Floyd Virginia. He was born on March 20, 1929 to the late John Homer Ingram and the late Effie I. Ingram. He was proceeded in death by his parents, a sister Elizabeth Franklin and 3 brothers Alvin, Robert and Bunion Ingram. 
Dave was a deacon at the New Beginning Church, Floyd Va. He was a avid reader of the Bible. He knew the word and would would engage in deep discussion of the scripture.
Dave had many hobbies which included wood crafting and collecting old coins. He loved to read and visit the sick and shut in. Dave met no strangers and always greeted all with a smile and conversation.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of over 70 years Pauline P. Ingram;  three daughters, Betty Vaughn (Jimmy) of Floyd Va ; Cynthia Via ( Roosevelt) of Roanoke Va ; Elaine Stuart (Tony) of Cranberry PA.  Two brothers John Homer Ingram Jr. of Fieldale Va. and Leroy Ingram of Columbus Ohio.  7 grandchildren Corey Via, Janeka Johnson (Thomas) , Jay Vaughn, Jeffery Vaughn, Charlotte  Churchwell (Anthony) , Joshua Stuart(Nikki) and Megan Stuart : 3 great grandchildren Jayden, Londyn  and Leon. He leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
 
A memorial service celebrating Dave's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday August 10th at the Mt. Zion Christian Church 115 Scales Rd. SE, Floyd Va. 24091. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Mt. Zion Church. 
The family of David Ingram express deep appreciation and gratitude for all acts of kindness shown during this sad time of bereavement. We thank God for each and everyone . May God richly bless you all for your thoughtfulness and keep the Ingram family in prayer.
