Betty Dulaney Keith

Betty Dulaney Keith, 78 of Floyd, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2019. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Gardner; and her parents, Burley & Maude Dulaney.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Richard R. Keith; children, Danny Keith (Jean), Louise K. Thomas (David), Amy Reed (Harvie), Gail Keith, and Marie Keith; grandchildren, Tessa, Hubert, Mandy, Ricky, Jimmy, Jason, Jessi, T.C., Ashley, Kayla, Josh, Adrienne, D.J., Walter, and Dorthy; 15 special great-grandchildren; brother, Sammy Dulaney (Susan); special niece, Becky Smith; several nephews; many special friends and family. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Roy Turpin and Pastor Michael Pugh officiating. Interment will follow in the Duncan Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

June Harris Terry

June Harris Terry, 85 of Hillsville, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2019. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donnie O’Dell Terry; parents, Walter J. & Rosa Ellar Harris; and nine siblings.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Terry (Ronnie Coble) and Brenda Gardner (Rickey); grandchildren, Donnie Terry, Tabitha Kenyon (Nathan), Adrian Gardner, and Jessie Gardner; great-grandchildren, Angel Kenyon and Laten Harrison; and sister, Coreen Dickerson.

Graveside Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at the Willis Cemetery with Pastor Wendell Horton officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. prior to the service at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel.

Katherine Jones Nester

Katherine Jones Nester, 91 of Floyd, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2019. She was born June 3, 1928 in Floyd County, VA, the daughter of Flemon and Fannie Jones.  She was the youngest of six children.

She was preceded in death by all of her siblings, Paul Jones, Anne Murphy, Ruth Johnson, Silas Ward Jones, and Roberteen Slusher; her son, David Nester; and her son-in-law, Jeff Alred.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 70 years, Hugh Bishop Nester; her son, Gary (Jackie) Nester; her daughter, Kathy Alred; her daughter-in-law, Debbie Nester; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Katherine’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family.  She also loved her church family and was an active volunteer in her community.

Funeral Services will be held at Noon on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Slusher Jones Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – Noon prior to the service at the funeral home.

A memorial service will be held Sunday Afternoon, November 17, 2019 in Richmond at Providence UMC.

Brian Kenneth Conroy

Brian Kenneth Conroy, 61 of Floyd, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2019. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Kathleen Conroy.

He is survived by his wife, Rochelle “Rocky” Conroy; children, Elizabeth Endaya (Ethan Conner) and Nathaniel Endaya (Megan); grandchildren, Natalee Wade, Ryan Belcher, Hannah Endaya, and Mason Endaya; brothers, Andy Conroy, Pat Conroy, and Tim Conroy; and sisters, Ellen Brissette and  Elizabeth Douglas.

As Brian requested, there will be no services.
