Frank Douglas Clement



Frank Douglas Clement, 76, of Floyd, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015.  He was born on December 28, 1938 in Lynchburg, Virginia to Frank and Bessie Smith Clement.  After losing his parents he moved to Floyd. Douglas attended Virginia Tech before serving four years in the Army in Ethiopia.  After his service he returned to Floyd to care for his Uncle and Aunt for the remainder of their lives.

He is survived by cousins Margaret A. Smith of Floyd, Ann Smith of Richmond, Mabel Hawkins of Courtland; nephews Scott Smith and family of Snowville and David Smith and family of Check; Special friends Arnold and Rita Howard of Floyd.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Jacksonville Cemetery with Rev. Steve Johnson officiating with Military Rites by Floyd V.F.W. Post #7854 and American Legion Post #127.

In lieu of flowers family request donations may be made to The Floyd Historical Society or The Montgomery-Floyd Regional Library.

Eula Bell Williams Martin







Eula Williams Martin was called to her heavenly home,  Friday, March 27, 2015 at Skyline Nursing & Rehab.  She was born April 17, 1910 to Charles and Olive Jane Bower Williams in Floyd County Virginia where she lived her entire life.  She was a loving wife, mother and sister and loved all her extended family.  She was a member of Red Oak Grove Church of the Brethren.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husbands, Sherman Blackwell, Carl Quesenberry and Eldridge Martin; her son Rev. Robert Blackwell; daughter-in -law Hazel Hylton Blackwell; 2 sons-in-law Richard Shank and Frank Shelor; Step-children Marvin T. Martin, Charles R. Martin, Gertrude Cox, Verna Dalton, Eugene Quesenberry; great-grandson, Mitchell Hall; 3 sisters and 5 brothers.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy Jane Shank, Ileda Shelor, Catherine Louise &  Rev.Thomas Hall,  Mary and W.B. Nolan; son and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Kathy Blackwell; Daughter-in-Law, Patricia Blackwell;  stepson, Fred Quesenberry; sister, Arlene Blackwell;  Grandchildren, Joel (Amanda) Shank, Stewart Shank, Belva Shelor, Melva Shelor, Steve (Arleen) Hall, Sherman L. (Nancy) Hall, Timothy (Dana) Hall, Joe (Lisa) Blackwell, Kim (Paul) Shivley, Will (Linette) Nolen, Heather Nolen, Charles (Janice) Blackwell, Matthew (Kelly) Blackwell;  numerous step grandchildren, great- grandchildren, step great- grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and step great- great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Red Oak Grove Church of the Brethern with Rev. Hebron Quesenberry and Rev. Jimmy Cannady officiating. Interment will follow in the Red Oak Grove Cemetery.  Family will receive friends Saturday, March 28, 2015 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Maberry Funeral Home Chapel.

Winnie Quesenberry Vaughn



Winnie Quesenberry Vaughn, 80, of Willis, departed this life on Thursday evening March 12, 2015 at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center.
                           
She was born on February 3, 1935 and was the youngest child of the late E.L. and Edna Quesenberry. She was also preceded in death by her brother Harless Quesenberry. She was a loving, caring, and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Gene B. Vaughn; Sons and Daughters-In-Law, Danny and Carol Vaughn, Jeff and Rhonda Vaughn, and Greg Vaughn of Willis; Daughter and Son-In-Law, Melissa and Robbie Dalton all of Willis, VA.  Her grandchildren were the love of her life and include, Matthew Vaughn, Bradley Vaughn, Jodie Vaughn, Katelyn Vaughn, Blake Dalton, Ashley Vaughn, and Braden Dalton; Brother and Sister-in-law, Cobern & Louise Quesenberry of Floyd, VA; Sisters, Iressa Fawcett of Fresno, CA, Rosa Pauline Stout of Radford, VA; Sister-In-Law Virgie Quesenberry of Floyd, VA.   

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Randy McDaniel, Pastor Roy Turpin, and Rev. Graham Mitchell officiating.  Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Willis. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Maberry Funeral Home Chapel.

Reba Boyd Higgs



Reba Aletha Boyd Higgs, 92, of Willis, went home to be with her Lord, Thursday, March 12, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Estole Higgs.



She is survived by son, Jerry Higgs; daughter & son-in-law, Joyce & Dennis Thompson; grandson, Joshua Thompson;  sisters, Maretha Lester, Blanch Quesenberry, Ruby Simpkins; numerous nieces and nephews. Also special friends Martha & Charlie Allen, Steven Wright, Dwayne Allen and family, and Susan Molley and family.



Funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Maberry Funeral Home with Dr. Ricky Atkins officiating.  Interment will be at Capt. George Quesenberry Cemetery.  Family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Maberry Chapel.
