Alzora Huff Wood, 90 of Floyd, passed away Sunday, January
21, 2018. She was preceded in death by
her husband, Alden H. Wood; son and daughter-in-law, Glenn A. and Peggy C.
Wood; and seven siblings.
She retired from Donn Kenny Garment Factory and loved working
at the Floyd Country Store (Friday Night Jamboree) until her death. She was of vibrant character, embraced life,
loved people and never met a stranger.
She expected the best from everyone and was helpful to those in need.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce Wood
and Donald R. Gardner; grandchildren, Ashlee Gardner, Adam (Carrie) Gardner,
Darren (Emily) Wood; step-grandchildren, Chris (Theresa) Evans, Jonathan Evans;
great-grandson, Nathaniel Jackson Gardner; sister-in-law, Lelia J. Huff;
numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January
23, 2018 at Maberry Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Johnson officiating with
interment in the Jacksonville Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from Noon to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
“We will always remember her beautiful spirit and infectious
smile! We know she is in heaven with angel wings and tapping her toes to the
music she enjoyed.”
