Gwyna Sutphin Hylton

Gwyna Sutphin Hylton 88 of Floyd, went to be with her Lord,  on Tuesday, October 30, 2018.

Gwyna was preceded in death by her parents William & Myrtle Moles Sutphin.

She is survived by her sisters & brother-in-law; Jean Poff, Pat & Ray Stanley, brother; Wayne Sutphin, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Sutphin Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Maberry Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until noon prior to the service.

William Eugene Webb

William Eugene Webb, 69 of Meadows of Dan, passed away October 29, 2018.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Ethelene and Wilson Webb.  He was a Veteran and served in the United States Army. William was an avid hunter and he also loved bluegrass music.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Sue Webb; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Charlie Webb; daughter & son-in-law, Sherry and Dale Slaughter; grandchildren, Haley Jade Slaughter and Duncan Isaiah Slaughter; sister, Debora Keith; niece, Melissa Mills; nephew, Justin Keith.

Funeral service will be held at 11AM, Monday, November 5, 2018 at Maberry Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery.  Family will receive friends from 3PM-5PM, Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Maberry Funeral Home.

Roger Lee Overstreet

Roger Lee Overstreet, 62 of Hopewell, VA, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018.   He was preceded in death by his parents, Joann T. and Marvin Overstreet , Sr.  

He is survived by his brother, Marvin Kenneth Overstreet, Jr. (Dianne); sister, Cathy Mason; niece, Brittany Mason.

Funeral service will be held at 11AM, Friday, November 2, 2018 at Maberry Funeral Home with
Mr. Tommy Slusher officiating.  Interment will follow in the Laurel Branch Cemetery.

Opal Nester Conner

Opal Nester Conner, 89 of Meadows of Dan, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2018.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Nina and Erby Stanley, husbands, Corby Nester and Frank D. Conner. 

She is survived by her sons, Maynard Nester (Sue), Howard Nester (Donna); daughter, Joy Turman (Joe); step-daughter, Susan Nunn; grandchildren, Paul Turman (Cindy), Sandi Cesaro (Matt), Cristy Boyd (Allen), Elizabeth Nester, Diana Nester; great grandchildren, Joseph Turman, Katlyn Boyd, Tyler Cesaro, Allison Boyd, Corby Boyd; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Green Mt. Baptist Church with Pastor Nathan Montgomery officiating. Interment will follow in the Burnette Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 6PM-8PM, Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Maberry Funeral Home.

Iva Ruth Compton Brammer

Iva Ruth Compton Brammer, 85 of Floyd, went to her eternal home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 28, 2018.  She was a faithful member of New Haven Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Billy, of 65 years; children, Phyllis & Robert Hall, Marvin & Diane Brammer, Michael & Melissa Brammer, Paula & Ronald DeHart; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Lorraine Keith & Lois Thompson; brother Cecil Compton(Marlene).

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Cannaday Cemetery with Pastor James Cockram and Pastor Warren Bumgarner officiating.
