Elizabeth Gross Koontz, 87 of Floyd, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017. 

She is survived by her husband, Walter Kenneth Koontz, Sr.; son Walter Kenneth Koontz, Jr.; daughter, Betty Lou Ross; sisters, Sara Rundlett; sisters-in-law, Martha Gross, Elizabeth “Libby” Gross; grandchildren, Charles Aaron Ross, Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Ross, Walter “Walt” William Koontz; eight great-grandchildren plus another one on the way.

Family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Maberry Funeral Home.  Graveside service will be Monday, October 2, 2017 in Alabama.

Gibson Cody Weeks

Gibson Cody Weeks, 84 of Bartow, Florida, passed away Sunday, September, 24, 2017.  He grew up in the Willis area of Floyd County and was the son of  William Cody and Ada Hylton Weeks. 

He is survived by his sisters, Eula Hurd, Willie Farris, Kate Keffer and husband Robert; numerous nieces and nephews.  

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, October 2, 2017 at Maberry Funeral Home with Pastor Roy Turpin officiating. Interment to follow at Willis Cemetery with flag presentation by Floyd V.F.W. Post #7845 and American Legion Post #127.

June Quesenberry

June Quesenberry, 99 of 5River Bend Estates, Bluefield, Virginia passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017.  She was born in Indian Valley Virginia on June 1, 1918 to Maggie and Ernest Vinton Dalton.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Rollie Quesenberry and her son, David Quesenberry.

She is survived by her sons, Terry Quesenberry & wife Carol, Larry Quesenberry and Timothy Quesenberry; grandchildren, David Rollie Quesenberry, Kellie Mccallister, Tiffany Jones (Doug), Tonya Quesenberry(Keith Beckett), Raegan Kostsko (Jude); great-grandchildren, Shiloh Baker, Kaitlyn Baker, Hunter Mccallister, Dominic Kotsko, Zoe Kotsko, Maggie Jones, Turner Jones.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Maberry Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth Poston officiating with interment to follow at the Quesenberry Cemetery.  Family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Maberry Funeral Home.

Lucille Yopp DeWeese

Lucille Yopp DeWeese, 76 of Copper Hill, passed away Monday, September 25, 2017.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert DeWeese; son, Dale DeWeese; parents, Garnett and Mary Farris Yopp; sister, Ann Holland; brothers, Larry, Jerry, Gordon, Michael and Doug.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Freddie and Annette DeWeese, Darrell DeWeese, David and Angela DeWeese; daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and Donald Beckner, Brenda and Max Jones; life partner, Roger Hawks; brothers, Billy Yopp, Raymond Yopp; sisters and brother-in-law, Linda and Ronnie Harden, Patty Hodges; brother-in-law, Walter Holland; grandchildren, Katrina and husband Aaron, Joshua and wife, Christina, Kristen and fiancé Evan, Erica and husband Noah, Jason, Rita, Tabitha, Matthew; great-grandchildren, Austin, Adam, Macy, Wyatt, Cheyenne, Kyla, Averie; several nieces and nephews.

Morgan Daniel Phillips

Morgan Daniel Phillips, 18 of Indian Valley, went to be with The Lord, Friday, September 22, 2017. He was preceded in death by grandmother, Rose Keyes; great grandparents, Covie and Tokie Phillips, Ralph Woodrow Long, Fred Keyes.

He is survived by his parents, Rodney and Marie Phillips; grandparents, Glennis and Mary Phillips, Danny Keyes; great grandparents, Mabel Long, Phyllis Keyes, Robert Cox; aunts and uncles, Cindy and Stan Keefe, Jeanie and Travis Jennings, Freddie and Teresa Keyes, Danny and Sondra Keyes, LeWayne Phillips; numerous cousins and extended family and friends.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 25, 2017 at Maberry Funeral Home with Pastor Rocky Huff and Pastor Stacy Redd officiating. The interment will follow at the Caswell P. Kidd Montgomery Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Maberry Funeral Home.
