Emory Eugene Weeks



Emory Eugene Weeks, 81 of Willis, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2019. He was born September, 7, 1937 to Ray Harless and Goldie Akers Weeks. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by brothers, Ray Sheldon Weeks, Roley Harless Weeks; sisters, Shirley A. Weeks and infant Mitzi Weeks.


He is survived by his wife, Faye Reed Weeks; son and wife, Brian Eugene and Lisa M. Weeks; grandson and wife Zachary Eugene and Kayla Hartman Weeks; granddaughter and husband, Jessica Mae Weeks and Matthew Scaggs; great granddaughter, Adaleigh Reagan Weeks; sisters and brother-in-law, Juanita Ketch and Fern and Ron Sutphin; brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Joyce Weeks; numerous nieces and nephews.



The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2019 at Maberry Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with pastor Shannon Hicks, Ron Sutphin and pastor Roy Turpin officiating. The interment will follow at Beaver Creek Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Beaver Creek Baptist Building Fund, c/o Terry Rakestraw, 8969 Mountain View Drive, Copper Hill, VA 24079

Jimmy James Vaughn Sr.





Jimmy James Vaughn, Sr., 74 of Floyd, passed away Monday, July 22, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Vaughn Sr. and Vivian Cox Vaughn; and brother, William Kyle Vaughn Sr.; father-in-law, David Ingram.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty E. Vaughn; of Floyd, sons, Jeffery Alec Vaughn, Jimmy James Vaughn Jr.; of Floyd, daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Anthony Churchwell; of Dublin, grandson, Leon D. Churchwell; of Dublin, brother, Edgar June Vaughn Jr.; of Floyd, sister, Annielee Windbrush; of Woolwine, sister-in-law, Gladys Vaughn; of Floyd, mother-in-law, Pauline Ingram; of Floyd, Elaine and Tony Stuart of Cranberry, PA, Cynthia and Roosevelt of Roanoke, numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Clifford Earl Boyd


Clifford Earl Boyd, 65 of Indian Valley, left this life to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, July 8, 2019. He is preceded in death by his father, Okley Boyd.


He is survived by the love of his life, Ann Hylton Boyd. Also surviving are the greatest children in the world, Angela (Dr. Mark) Munzinger, Elizabeth (Larry) Gravely, Crystal (David) Pratt, April Boyd, Jasmine Boyd, and Benjamin (Katherine) Boyd; special step-son, Chris Eavey. He takes great pleasure in spoiling his 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother and best friend, Goldie Boyd; sisters, Martha (Charlie) Allen, Hazel Boyd, Linda (Greg) Fountaine, and Brenda (Derwin) Epperly; many nieces, nephews, and friends; and the hundreds of children and teens he and Ann have collected over the years.

Clifford was a Life Member of Floyd County Fire Department, Station 4 and a 37 year Active Life Member of the Floyd County Volunteer Rescue Squad. It was always his joy to be of service to his community.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 2019 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Roy Bentley and Pastor Harvey Carico officiating. Interment will follow in the Captain George Quesenberry Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
