Kent Marlin Hylton


Kent Marlin Hylton,76, of Floyd, passed away Friday, August 28, 2015.  He was preceded  in death by his parents, Eli Walter & Mertie Lee Hylton; wife Lois Ellen Cox Hylton and  longtime companion, Rusty his four legged friend.
He worked 40 years in the furniture industry and was known as a hard worker.  He loved woodworking, yard sales, traveling, animals and computers.
He is survived by his cousins and their spouses, Arva & Bill Coleman, Dallas & Margaret Hubbard, Darlene & Jack Hylton; Special friends, Mike and John Belcher, Terry Slusher and family and the Beran family.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Maberry Funeral Home with Pastor Roy Turpin officiating.  Interment to follow in the Topeco Cemetery.  Family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Rena Marie Hylton McAlexander




Rena Marie Hylton McAlexander, 61, of Hillsville, passed away, August 26, 2015.  She was preceded in death by her wonderful husband, Bruce John McAlexander; grandson, Shane Alexander Vaughan; mother & father-in-law, Edna(Nay) and John(Pop) McAlexander.
She is survived by daughters and son-in-law, April Elaine & Jason Vaughan, Rebecca Ann McAlexander; special son, Brandon Wirt; parents, Vivian(Shorty) Hylton and Doris Hylton; grandchildren, Amber McAlexander, Kelsey, Bradley, and Preston Vaughan; special sisters, Judy Stanley, Bonnie Roten, Becky Cox; sister & brother-in-law, Marge and Robert (Bob) Boswell, sister, Mary Ann Hylton; special aunt, Belle Hylton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She also loved and cherished her four legged daughters, Monster McAlexander Hylton and Baby Vaughan McAlexander Hylton.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 30, 2015 with Rev. S.G. Bolt officiating with interment in the Alderman Cemetery.  Family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Arrangements by Maberry Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may  be given to April Vaughan or Rebecca McAlexander.

Cecil H. Phillips



Cecil H. Phillips, age 94 of Fairborn, went home to be with the Lord on Friday August 28, 2015 at the Dayton VA Hospice.  He was born November 19, 1920 in Pulaski, Virginia, the son of the late Eli and Manilla (Simpkins) Phillips.  Cecil served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II; and was employed for many years as an auto body repairman, retiring from Jack Huelsman Chevrolet in Fairborn.  He was a longtime member of Victory Temple, was an avid gardener, and always enjoyed working on cars.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Arlie in 2007; two brothers; and four sisters.  He is survived by four children, Juanita (James Coby) Preston of Fairborn, Bill (Brenda) Phillips of Fairborn, Gary (Darlene) Phillips of Fairborn, Mary (Ed) Rice of Kettering; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren; two sisters; a brother; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.  Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Indian Valley Church of God  with Pastor Kenneth Poston  officiating  with Military Rites by Floyd V.F.W. Post #7854 and American Legion Post #127.  Interment to follow in the  Captain George Quesenberry Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Indian Valley Church of God.  Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the Dayton VA Hospice Fund.

Georgianna Belle Conner Link


Georgianna Belle Conner Link, 85, of Bristol TN, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015.   She was preceded by her parents Jasper & Elizabeth Ann Conner and by her thirteen brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her husband Arnold Leon Link; sons, Wayne Link, Dwight Link (Debbie Phillips), Terry Link; daughter, Melinda L. Combs; brother-in-law,  Arthur Conner (Ilene); grandchildren, Brian Combs, Angela Combs.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Salem Primitive Baptist Church (Head of the River) with Elder Alan Terry officiating with interment in Restvale Cemetery.    The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday , August 28, 2015 at Maberry Funeral Home.

Steven Ray Moles, Sr.


Steven Ray Moles, Sr.,60, of Patrick Springs, passed away Monday, August 24, 2015. He was preceded in death by his father, Ollie Moles.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dawn Moles; children, Thomas Moles (Cindy Fulcher), Candi Moles (Tim), Tracy Moles (Joe Wood), Steven Moles, Jr. (Amber); mother, Betty Moles; brothers, Gerald Moles (Pat), Tommy Moles (Crystal);sister, Kathy Moles; 14 grandchildren.

Funeral will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Maberry Funeral Home with Pastor David Freeman officiating with interment in the Alderman Cemetery.  Family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Maberry Funeral Home.
