Christene T. Vest

Christene T. Vest, 85 of Floyd, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 11, 2018.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Alton Vest and sister, Marcella Whitlow.  She was a life time member of Topeco Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by her sons, Darrell Vest (Glenna), Ricky Vest (Teresa), James Vest, Timothy Vest; brother-in-law, Bill Whitlow;sisters-in-law, Ina Wood (Herbert), Claudine Haynes (Don), Lorine Huff (David); grandchildren, Mandie Bishop (Travis), Justin Vest (Iris), Ricky Vest, Jr. (Meredith), Tony Vest (Megan), Lance Vest ; ten great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Topeco Church of the Brethren with Rev. Mike Varner, Rev. Tedd Turner, Jr. and Pastor Ricky Vest, Jr.  officiating with interment to  follow in the Topeco Cemetery.

Bobby T. Way

Bobby T. Way, 79 of Riner, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, July 11, 2018.  He was preceded in death by his parents Charles Hayes and Bessie Jones Way and his sister Betty Jean Bay.

He is survived by his brothers, Charles Way and Danny Way; sisters, Mary Gunter, Dolly Barlow and Phyllis Baker.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 16, 2018 at New Hope Church of God with Pastor Mike Bond, Pastor Wayne Martin and Pastor Leon Alley officiating with interment in the Piedmont Cemetery.  Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, July 15, 2018 at New Hope Church of God.

Cavilla Herbert McPeak

Cavilla Herbert McPeak, 89 of Indian Valley, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, July 11, 2018.  He was preceded in death by his son Stevie McPeak.

He is survived by his wife Daisy Marshall McPeak; nieces, many cousins and friends. 

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Maberry Funeral Home with Rev. Vinton Quesenberry officiating. Interment will follow in Captain George Quesenberry Cemetery.  Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service

Althea Reed Weeks

Althea Reed Weeks, 87 of Floyd, went home to be with the Lord,  Tuesday, July 10, 2018.   She was preceded by her husband George Weeks, Jr.

She is survived by her sons Randy (Lois) Weeks and David Weeks; granddaughter, Megan Schumann (Michael); great grandsons, Porter & Dawson Schumann.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 13, 2018 at Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren with Pastor Roy Turpin officiating with interment to follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.  Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren.
