Lonzie
Cline Alderman, 77 of Willis, is now praising God in Heaven. He went to be with
his Lord on October 4th, 2014. Born on September 23, 1937, his wife and
family spent over 40 years of their journey spreading the gospel through music.
Lonzie has been a testimony to others by his way of living and supported many
through his faith and prayers. He has shared his numerous talents and interests
in art, music, fishing and camping as he leaves many cherished memories with
his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lonzie is
preceded in death by his parents, Remon Weeks Alderman and Harley Rush Alderman
of Willis and is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Josephine
Hollandsworth Alderman. Also surviving are: daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon
& Gary Reedy, Karen & Rev. Stanley Hawkins, Rhonda & Glenn Dixon,
and Becky Thompson; Terry Thompson; sister, Evah Sutphin;
grandchildren and spouses, Amy & Bobby Huff, Adam & Heidi
Hawkins, Jacob Hawkins, Josh & Rachel Reedy, Carmen Reedy, Brittany &
Nelson Jones, Hannah Dixon, Woody Dixon, Joseph Dixon, Ben Thompson, and Emily
& Jason Caldwell; great-grandchildren, Derek Perkins & Angel Huff,
Taylor, Isaiah, Baron, Lilly, & Meilin Hawkins, and Eliza Reedy; nephew,
Jerry & Carol Sutphin and children Zach, Jacob & Brittany Griffith;
seven brothers-in-law; nine sisters-in-law; and 34 nieces and nephews.
The
Alderman family is truly grateful for the many prayers, loving care-giving and
support provided for us during this past year.
Celebration
of his life will be held at Noon on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Willis Full
Gospel Church. Interment will follow in the Willis Cemetery. The family
will receive visitors from 4 – 8 p.m. on Monday, October 6, 2014 the Maberry
Funeral Home Chapel.
Flowers
are appreciated but if you so choose the family requests donations be made to
the Floyd County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 257, Floyd, VA 24091 or the Floyd
County Fire Department, P.O. Box 33, Floyd, VA 24091.
