Turman Dalton, 65 of Floyd, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, August 7,
2017. She was preceded by her husband
Venston T. Dalton; son, Thomas A. Dalton;granddaughters, Faith & Sarah Dalton, parents, Payton E. and Julia D. McPeak
Turman.
She is
survived by her sons Venston Edward Dalton (Crystal Dalton), Vernon Allen
Dalton (Frances Goad); daughter, Kathy Dalton Duncan (John Paul Duncan, Jr.);
grandchildren, Amanda D. Buckner (Isaac), Christopher Duncan (Grace Alley), Venston Andrew Dalton, Katie
N. Dalton, Landon Dalton, Justin Burcham, Brittany Burcham, Emma Brown, Lydia
Brown, Dawson Brown; five great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley A. Turman
Stone; special friend, Sharon Pratt Miller.
Funeral
service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Maberry Funeral
Home with Pastor Vernon Dalton officiating with interment in the Alderman
Cemetery. Family will receive friends
from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m, Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Maberry Funeral Home.

Carlton Wade "C.W." Turner
The Life
Carlton Wade Turner, born
January 18, 1959. "C.W." as he was known attended and graduated from
Floyd County High School in 1977. He grew up farming the land and had a passion
for nature and the hard work that it encompassed. He was reared in Little River
Missionary Baptist Church. After driving
the school bus for 33 years, he was well respected by many children and their
parents. The landscape business led him to many acquaintances locally and
nationally as attraction to the mountains promoted home building. When the
winters in Floyd bring lots of snow and ice, he found joy in plowing snow long
hours entertained by gospel music. The Blues was also one his all-time favorite
and pleasurable genre of music. He loved to laugh and was a practical "jokester."
C.W. transitioned from this
life on Monday July 31, 2017 at 12:05 p.m. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Gertrude P. Turner, Father, Sam P. Turner and Brother, Marvin O. Turner. C.W. leaves behind a Sister, Gayle
Maybin, Houston, TX, Brother, Bascil (Gwen) Turner of Roanoke, VA, Sister-In-Law,
Rhonda (James) Turner-Holland, Floyd, VA, Nephews, Jason (Wendy) Turner,
Wesley Turner, Carlton Murdock, Nieces, LaQuisha (Donald) Mitchell, Tia
Murdock, Jai Briskey, Kia (James) Robinson, Best Friend, Melinda Touscany
and a host of great nieces and nephews. The family extends a special thank you
to the Good Samaritan Hospice staff.
Graveside service will be held Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Little River Cemetery with Rev. Clinton Crump officiating following a Visitation at Maberry Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Pete Williams,
84 of Floyd, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Lewis-Gale Montgomery
Hospital in Blacksburg, VA. He was
predeceased by his parents, Ida Fisher & Payton H. Williams; son, Stephen.
Pete is
survived by his wife of 65 years, Virginia Yearout Williams; his sister Deane
Harris; his children, Mike, Mark & Debbie, Scott & Lisa; and his
grandchildren, Stephanie, Steve, Brian, Jennifer, Rob.
A Memorial
service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Floyd United Methodist
Church with Rev. Steve Johnson and Pastor Richard Harmon officiating.
The family will receive friends from Noon to 1:00 p.m. prior to the
service. Burial will be private. Maberry
Funeral Home is servicing the family.

Chester Marshall
Chester
Marshall, 79 of Floyd, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 9, 2017. He was
preceded in death by his parents, Eners Harvey and Mattie Lillian Huff
Marshall; sister, Loucille Jones; infant brother, Arnold Wayne Marshall.
He is survived
by brothers and sisters-in-law, Clyde Marshall, Charles Marshall (Margaret),
Clinton Marshall (Jean); sisters, Muriel Ratcliff, Lillian Gillespie; numerous
nieces and nephews.
Funeral
service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the Maberry Funeral
Home chapel with Pastor Hebron Quesenberry officiating. The interment will
follow at Beaver Creek Cemetery with full Military Rites by Floyd V.F.W. Post
#7854 and American Legion Post #127. The family will receive friends one hour
prior to the service.
