Harry Dean Radford, 86 of Kingsport, TN, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2026. He was born on May 13, 1940. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jeff & Lorene Radford; brothers, Jeff Jr. and Jimmy Radford; granddaughter, Kassi Shaffer; and son-in-law, Keith Jarrell.
Harry lived a life of faith, love, and service. He was the devoted husband of Thannah Radford for 65 years together building a life centered on God and family. They traveled across the country by tractor trailer seeing all the states but three.
A faithful servant of Jesus, he served as a deacon, taught Sunday school, and volunteered for years at food banks, serving the homeless and marginalized communities with compassion. His generosity was remarkable on multiple occasions giving away the clothes off his back. Harry never met a stranger . He treated everyone with compassion, kindness and respect. He loved family vacations with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He laugh loudly and often and enjoyed a good prank now and then. He worked tirelessly throughout his life, always hoping to do more for his family, friends and others. His legacy of faith, humor, generosity, will live on in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Thannah R. Radford; son & daughter-in-law, Phillip & Tareni Radford; daughter, Kay Jarrell; grandchildren, Shane Adam Shaffer, Raven (Scott) Tarr, Austin Stacy, and Nick Stacy; great-grandchildren, Michael Shaffer, Joshua Olson, and Elizabeth Tarr; sisters & brothers-in-law, Judy & Tommy Bell and Betty & Johnny Dickerson; several nieces and nephews; very special friends, Waitman & Patricia Cox.
Funeral services will be held at Noon on Monday, August 31, 2026 in the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Phillip Cox officiating. Interment will follow in the Jacksonville Cemetery with Military Rites by the Army National Guard. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until Noon prior to the service at the funeral home.
