David Ray Pratt entered into his eternal home on Thursday, June 4, 2026 after a long hard battle with Alzheimer’s. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood and Sylvia Pratt; brothers, Roger Pratt, Ralph Pratt; and sister, Mary Alice Pratt.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 56 years, Carolyn Q. Pratt; son, Joshua Pratt (Brandi); daughter, Andrea Elzowry; grandchildren, Miranda Harris, Andrew Harris, Harley Delorie, Coen Pratt, Liam Pratt, Christian Pratt, Lola Pratt; sisters, Ruby Torres (Larry), and Loretta Vest (Charles).
David was a member of Beaver Creek Church and served as a deacon. He loved his church family. He also walked on the Dan River Emmaus Walk #60, He Took The Nails, and he teamed on Walks 66, 72, 80, and 84.
David had a passion for old cars and trucks. He could tell you about them and the motors. David enjoyed several trips to car shows.
Funeral services will be held at Noon on Monday, June 8, 2026 at Beaver Creek Church with Pastor Marvin Wade and Pastor Ricky Burnette officiating. Interment will follow in the Beaver Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until Noon prior to the service at the church.
The family would like to express their thankfulness to a very special caregiver, Randy Alls. God sent him for David. There was a special bond between the two of them.
They would also like to thank Kim Johnson, Madison Alls, and Elissa Conner for the special care they gave.
Also a special appreciation to Carilion Hospice, Kendra, Rebekah, Harmony, Alexis, and others who helped.
