Richard Noah Phillips

 
Richard Noah Phillips, 84 of Salem, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. He was born April 24, 1941 to the late Edgar and Lessie Phillips. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Merle Bain, Erma Alley; brothers, Bill Phillips, and Roy Phillips. 

Richard was a veteran who served in the Marine Corp from 1961 to 1965 when he was honorably discharged. He then went to Roanoke College where he earned his BA in business and worked for Brabham Oil Company for 25 years. 

He enjoyed going out and listening to Bluegrass music any chance he could. Richard also enjoyed just going out to his garage and tinkering with his cars.

Richard is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ann Phillips; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Richard Dickerson; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Stephanie Phillips; four grandchildren, Melissa Scott, Mark Dickerson, Brandon and Anna Phillips, Cole and Kyleigh Phillips; seven great-grandchildren, Dakota and Mary Dickerson, Kayleigh Dickerson, Alexis Scott, Brooklyn Scott, Baker Phillips, Ada Phillips, Bentley Phillips; and one great-great-grandchild, Angel Dickerson. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 16, 2026 in the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Lowell Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Indian Creek Cemetery with Military Rites by the United States Marine Corps. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
