Eillen Baker Moran

Eillen Baker Moran, 83 of Floyd, passed away on February 13, 2026. She was born on May 15, 1942 in Carroll County, VA to Posey and Rodaska Dalton Baker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, William “Bill” Moran; in-laws, Mac and Hettie Pate; and seven of her eight siblings, Freeda Moore, Jewel Lineberry, Geneva Goad, Guida Weddle, Virginia Marshall, Belva Baker, and her twin, Eugene Baker.

Bill and Eillen met at a dance in 1965 at the El Tenador. They were married on July 15, 1966. They enjoyed raising two sons on the farm “in the country” and perhaps even more, enjoyed their grandsons as the farm work was done. After school, the grandsons were given free rein of her home. She loved watching forts go up, snowmen made and basketball wars. However, she was a picky eater, so she left the tasting of any cooking experiments to others!

Eillen is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Clay and Karla Moran, Monty Moran; grandsons, Zane Moran, Luke Moran; as well as soon to be granddaughter, Lauren Waggoner. Also remaining to cherish her memory are her sister, Elva Price; several nieces and nephews; and many friends and neighbors in Floyd and Coon Ridge.

Funeral services will be held at Noon on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 in the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Roy Turpin officiating. Interment will follow in the Vest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until Noon prior to the service at the funeral home.
