Edward (Ed) Thomas Harman, 92,
passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, November 11, 2018. He was born May 13, 1926 in Floyd County to
the late Shadrach and Ellen Weddle Harman.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Clovis, Conley, Warren, his sisters,
Cleda Harman, June Hylton, Irene Lawson. He was a WWII Veteran, and served in the army
from 1944 to 1946. He was employed by C
& J Oil Company for many years and after retirement, worked for NAPA in
Christiansburg. He was a longtime
member and dedicated deacon at Christiansburg Church of the Brethren.
Left to cherish his memory are
his wife of 69 years, Georgianna Epperly Harman, his son, Greg Harman(Mary
Jane), his daughter, Ellen Maxwell(Eddie), his grandchildren, Jeff (Michelle)
Harman, Luke Harman, Beth (Ryan) Schoonover, Laura (Joe) Kozlowski, Michael
Maxwell, Kayla Maxwell, his great-grandchildren, Theo, Paul, Maggie, Molly,
Henry.
Friends and family will
remember Mr. Harman as a kind, soft-spoken, thoughtful man who was dedicated to
church and family. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at 1:00
p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Maberry Funeral Home,
Floyd, VA. with Rev. Jerry Hylton officiating. Interment will follow the
service at Topeco Church of the Brethren Cemetery with military honors by the
Army National Guard.
