Howard C.
Mannon of Floyd, passed away Friday, December 29, 2017. He was born May 16, 1929 to the late Bennie
and Roxie Mannon. In addition to his
parents he was preceded in death by two loving sons Philip Mannon and Bruce
Mannon; his brother, C.E. Mannon and wife Betty.
He retired
from Corning Glass Works and was a carpenter, woodworker and brick mason. He was an original member of the Floyd Church
of Christ where he was song leader and Bible school teacher. He loved to sing and play the fiddle at Floyd
Country Store and other venues.
He is survived
by his wife of 68 years, Alma Wade Mannon; son & daughter, Roger &
Nancy Mannon; daughter-in-law & husband Anita & Charlie Smith;
grandchildren, Neal Mannon & wife Sarah, Chris Mannon & wife Daphne, Eli Mannon & wife Amber,
Ethan Mannon & wife Bethany, Adria Dillon & husband Bill:
great-grandchildren, Lydia Mannon, Della Mannon, Eva Dillon; step great-grandchildren,
Alex Zalesny and Paul Byrum; sister, Jo Hundley; sisters-in-law, Ila Agee,
Edith Hunter (Beverly), Alta Conner, Cora Thompson (Gratton).
Funeral
service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Floyd Church of
Christ with Mr. Mitchell Floyd officiating with interment in the Mannon
Cemetery. Family will receive friends
from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service.

flowers donation may be made to the Mannon Cemetery Memorial Fund c/o Lester
Mannon, PO Box 423, Floyd, VA 24091.
