Clyde William Blackwell
88, passed away December 2, 2017, at his childhood home on the farm he loved in
the Stonewall section of Floyd County, VA surrounded by family and friends.
Surviving are his wife,
Judith Gordon Blackwell; daughter, Teresa B. Myers (Tim), of Roanoke; daughter
Becky Blackwell, Roanoke; grandson, Adam William Myers, South Bend, Indiana;
granddaughter, Mallory M. Saunders
(Cary), Richmond. Also
surviving are three sisters, Livie B. Thompson (Merlin), Floyd, Annabelle B.
Austin (Jack), Roanoke, and Dorothy B. Davis (Curt), Roanoke, many nieces and
nephews and a brother-in-law, Rick Gordon and his wife Linda B. Gordon of
Christiansburg. Clyde was the son of Moses A. and Attaway Hale Blackwell.
Clyde served his country
in the Korean Conflict, and was a truck driver for Rowe Furniture for more than
25 years. He also worked for H.T. Bowling, Inc. in Radford for several years.
He farmed, kept beef cattle and grew a most beautiful garden every year while
enjoying the Floyd County outdoors. He was a Trustee of the Stonewall United
Methodist Church and participated in the work of the church any way he could,
and was present every Sunday until his last illness. With sincere gratitude to

Visitation will be
Tuesday, December, 5, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Maberry Funeral Home followed by the
funeral at 12 Noon and Interment at Restvale Cemetery. Flowers will be
appreciated or contributions may be given to Stonewall Church Building Fund,
