Guida Baker Worrell Weddle, 77, of
Floyd, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2015.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, James L. Worrell and D.T.
Weddle; sisters, Freeda Moore, Belva Baker, Jewel Lineberry; brother, Eugene
Baker.
She worked 35 years in the local textile
industry as a supervisor at Skyline Sportswear and Floyd Garment Factory. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern
Star of the Hillsville Auxiliary for 50
years and a charter member of the Floyd County Rescue Squad. She also was a member of the Floyd Baptist
Church for 49 years.
She is survived by her sons, James L.
Worrell, Jr. (Rita Turpin), Dale Weddle (Dana Drew), Robert Weddle (Kathy);
daughters, RuthAnne Worrell Graham (Richard), Mary Yonna Fainn (Curtis), Red
Lee; grandchildren, Catherine Worrell Graham, Jacqueline Worrell Graham, Josh
Weddle, Zack Weddle; sisters, Geneva Goad, Virginia Marshall, Eillen Moran
(Bill), Elva Price; aunts, Clarie Baker Fisher; sister-in-law, Sue Baker;
several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday,
August 4, 2015 at Floyd Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Agee and Rev. Joe Womack officiating
with interment in Jacksonville Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 3,
2015 at Maberry Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be
made to Floyd County Rescue Squad, PO Box 257, Floyd, VA. 24091.
