Lenard Ray Howell, 69, of Floyd, passed away Thursday December 18, 2014. Lenard served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was in the Law Enforcement for 22 years in Floyd County and The Town of Hillsville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Ola Howell; brother, Clarence Howell; sister, Pauline Howell. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Joyce Martin Howell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Russell and Brenda Howell, Gary and Lynn Howell, Carl and Elaine Howell; sisters, Dorothy Smith and Wanda Buckner; sister-in-law, Donna Howell; special nephews, Dale and Jim Linkenhoker; special niece, Leigh Martin. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, December 22, 2014 at Beaver Creek Church of The Brethren with pastor Marvin Wade officiating. The interment will follow at the Big Sand Cemetery with Full Military Rites by the Hillsville V.F.W. Grover King Post 1115. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday December 21, 2014 at Maberry Funeral Home.
