Julius "Scott" Bolt



Julius “Scott” Bolt, 53 of Willis, went to be with The Lord on Saturday, August 6, 2016. Scott loved farming and working with cattle. He enjoyed life and spending quality time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, J.E. Bolt.
Those left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Erica Bolt; daughters and sons-in-law, Katelyn Bolt; Bridget Hamm (Jackie); Deidra DeBord (Todd) son, Brian Bolt; mother, Dorothy Bolt; brothers and sisters-in-law, Steven Bolt; Stewart Bolt (Jenny); Samuel Bolt; Daniel Bolt (Stacie); grandchildren, Keaton, Seth, and Dusty Hamm, and Rebecka DeBord; father and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Hilda Belcher; several special nieces and nephews; Beloved dog, Kermit. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Maberry Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Cox officiating. The interment will follow at the Mabry Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at the funeral home.

Lora Mae Flinchum Phillips



Lora Mae Flinchum Phillips, 89 of Willis, passed away Friday, August 5, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Byrd and Hallie Flinchum.

She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Gerald R. Phillips; sons and daughters-in-law, Ivan and Mary Phillips; Duane and Charlotte Phillips; Kevin and Melinda Phillips; grandchildren, Suzette Sumner, Stacy and Scott Ham, Rachael and Tim Quesinberry, Crystal and David Musick, Ronnie and Debbie Akers, Shawn and Amanda Duncan, Isaac Phillips, Samuel Phillips, Katina and Jake Rice, Andrea and Gary Martin, Steven Phillips, great grandchildren, Dylan and Morgan Sumner, Adam and Cody Quesinberry, Luke and Lilly Duncan, Kerry and Brandon Musick, Brook and Brittney Akers, Jacob and Lucas Rice, Tyler and Kyle Ham, Kimberly Tooley, Lane Thompson, Allen, Brett, and Brooke Martin, Talyn and Braylyn Phillips, Kyle, Kristen, and Emma McAllister; great-great grandchild, Brayden Sumner; brothers and sister-in-law, Iford Flinchum, Lloyd and Mildred Flinchum; sister and brother-in-law, Nelva and Dallas Shelton. 
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday August 8, 2016 at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Atkins. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the service. The interment will follow at Captain George Quesenberry Cemetery.

Fay Hollandsworth Quesenberry

Fay Hollandsworth Quesenberry was welcomed into heaven by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 5, 2016.  Fay was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all.
Born March 23, 1931 to the late Major and Ollie Slaughter Hollandsworth, she is preceded in death by her two  sisters, Margaret Quesenberry and Neva Shelor and  brother, Clifford Hollandsworth.
Married on October 27, 1949 she is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, J.C. Quesenberry of Willis, VA.; sons and daughters-in-law, James Dale and Frances Quesenberry of Willis,Va. and Anthony and Debbie Quesenberry of Copper Hill, VA.; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Bill Worrell of Hillsville, VA.; Ten Grandchildren; 16 Great-Grandchildren; four  Step Great-Grandchildren; four  special Nieces and  two special Nephews.
Arrangements will be by Maberry Funeral Home in Floyd, VA where the family will receive friends on Sunday, August 7, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.   Funeral will be held at Maberry Funeral Home on Monday, August 8, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with the Elder Larry Hollandsworth officiating. Interment will follow in the Turman Cemetery on Boarderline Road in Willis, VA.

Lula Keith Semones


Lula K. Semones, 85, of Floyd, transitioned to Heaven on Tuesday, August 2, 2016.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Dura and Lizena Sutphin Keith; 3 brothers, Clarence, Claude and Fred Keith; 3 sisters, Peggy Hurt, Freeda Trail and Hazel Keith. 

She is survived by her husband, Sidney Hassel Semones; sons, James Edward Weeks, Roger Weeks(Diana); daughter, Teresa Keith (Kelvin); step-daughter, Brenda Troutt(Dewayne); grandchildren, Michelle Bourne, Jamie Weeks, Shawn Weeks, Stern Keith; brother, Frank Keith (Peggy); sisters, Lydia Burgess, Clara Graham; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 5, 2016 at Maberry Funeral Home with Rev. Dewayne Troutt and Pastor Roy Turpin officiating with interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  Family will receive friends from Noon to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Special thanks to the Nurses and Staff at Skyline Nursing & Rehab Center.  Also a special thanks to my precious sister-in-law, Diana Weeks who did the things I could not do.

Charles Corbin Creasy


Charles Corbin Creasy, 63, of Floyd, went home peacefully, Friday,  July 29, 2016 and is now at peace in our Fathers arms. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Leslie & Helen Marie Wilhelm Creasy; sister, Becky Sue Cundiff.

He retired after 38 years of employment with Norfolk & Southern Railroad.  He was in the Marine Reserves for 12 years, active with God’s Kid’s Youth Group and a Deacon at his church, The  Little White Church.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Candy Creasy; daughters, Courtney Creasy, Carla Creasy Peters(Greg), Mary Helen Critzer(Dylan); granddaughter, Hannah Jane Creasy ;sisters & brothers-in-law, Melodee Tamashiro (Charlie), Dougie Bolt (Roger) and Bill Cundiff.
Memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Maberry Funeral Home with Pastor Chuck Thomas officiating.  Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Odell Bolt "Pedley"


Odell Virgil Bolt (Pedley), passed away July 26, 2016 at the age of 82.  He is preceded in death by his parents Martin and Virginia Bolt, six sisters, two brothers and baby Isabell Mackey, Odell called her little Robin.  For twenty-two years Odell had a place he could call home but God said “old timber cutter you have a better home come and rest.”

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of twenty two years, Ida Mae Bolt,; two step sons, Kenneth Beckner (Mary), Donald Beckner (Becky); two step daughters, Wanda Hale (Tommy) , Marsha Brown (Bill); Grandchildren, Robin Mackey (Bryan), Anthony Munsey (Alison), Scott Hale, Katrina Walker (Aaron), Susan Meredith (DK), Ricky Beckner (Chris); fourteen great-grandchildren; Molly his horse; lots of nieces, nephews and many good  friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 29, 2016 at Maberry Funeral Home with Rev. J.C. Willard officiating with interment in the Alderman Cemetery.  Family will receive friends from Noon to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Rosa Mae Radford Todd



Rosa Mae Radford Todd, 64 of Ridgeway, VA., passed away at her home on Saturday, July 9, 2016. She was born October 14, 1951 to the late Robert and Orpha Radford. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Todd; brothers, David and Junior Radford; sister, Shirley Ann Martin.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David G. Salmons, Jr. and Tenia; of Floyd, daughter and son-in-law, Stonia Bearden and James; of Check, granddaughters, Katrina Salmons; of Floyd, Sienna Bearden; of Check, grandson, James Bearden; great grandson, Foxx Lee David Hawks; of Floyd;sister, Beulah Yearout, Floyd; brother, Alvin Radford, NC; 2 Half-sisters; one Half-brother.

Graveside Service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at the Radford Cemetery with Pastor Roy Turpin officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday July 12, 2016 at Maberry Funeral Home

William "Billy" Emmett James

William “Billy” Emmett James, 93, of Christiansburg, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2016.  Billy was a charter member of Belmont Christian Church in Christiansburg since 1925 and was a man of his faith.  He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Anne James, daughter & son-in-law, Nora Sue & Dan Spangler and daughter, Dianne Dinan.
Left to cherish his memory are his son-in-law, John Dinan; granddaughters and their husbands, Denise & Gary Handley, Traci & Ray Valderaz, Karie & Brandon Wade, Katie & Eric Holfield; great-grandchildren, Raymond Valderaz, Madelyn Valderaz, Karleigh Wade, Jase Wade, Preslie Holfield and Jemma Holfield; caregiver and special friend, James Conley.

Danny Kip Geren



On June 15, 2016, Danny Kip Geren,66 of Floyd, went to join his wife, friend, companion and the “Love of His Life” of 50 years, Patricia Ann Geren.
Dan, a beloved husband, father , son, brother and dear friend to so many is survived by his two sons , Shawn Kristian and Benjamin Ezra, both of Floyd, Virginia. Also his mother, Jacqueline Geren and his four brothers, Kenney, Joseph, Mike and David Geren all of Kalamazoo Michigan.
We all love and miss you.  The memories of you will always be cherished.  Rest in peace Mom and Dad.
