In his working years, Sam was the owner of Highland Hardwoods. He was a very talented woodworker and brilliant businessman. Sam was a Gideon and Deacon of Topeco Church of the Brethren for 51 years and served in many capacities in the church, teaching and singing in the choir. He had many dear friends and cherished his church family.
