Herbert “Herb” Junior Shelton, 87 of Salem, passed away on Friday,
December 13, 2019. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ulysses & Ruby
Turpin Shelton; sister, Annie Dickerson; and brothers, Grover, Dallas, Ray,
Roy, and Harold Shelton.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Maggie Midkiff Shelton;
son & daughter-in-law, Kenneth (Kenny) Shelton & Kim; daughter &
son-in-law, Darlene Shelton Wolfe & Rick; grandson, Jakob (Jake) Shelton
& Brittany; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn & Izzy; sister, Faye Bolt;
sisters-in-law & brother-in-law, Nelva Shelton, Jane Shelton, and Barbara
& Mike Testerman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 16,
2019 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eugene Mills and Rev. Clay
Dalton officiating. Interment will follow in the Countyline Cemetery with
Military Rites by Floyd V.F.W. Post #7854 and American Legion Post #127. The
family will receive friends from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. prior to the service at the
funeral home.
