Rodney
C. Thomas, age 81 of Floyd, went to be with the Lord Thursday, May 24, 2018. He
was a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer at Maberry Funeral Home in Floyd
for over 50 years. Graduate of Cincinnati College of Embalming, Licensed
E.M.T., and served as Secretary-Treasurer of Floyd County Volunteer Fire
Department for many years, as well as working with the Red Cross and other
civic organizations.
He
is survived by sister, Barbara Spangler; brother, Rev. Richard W. Thomas, Sr.,
(Carolyn), and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 28, 2018 at
Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Richard W. Thomas, Sr., and Pastor Roy
Turpin, with interment at Jacksonville Cemetery. Friends may visit at Maberry
Funeral Home on Sunday, May 27, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Flowers are appreciated or you can make donations in memory of Rodney to the Floyd County Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 257, Floyd, VA 24091.
