Emory Eldon Sutphin, 93 of Dublin,
passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016. He
was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rosa Sutphin; his first wife,
Mildred Morris Sutphin; brothers, Willie Sutphin and Alvey E. Sutphin; sisters,
Sylvia Willis, Nettie Willis, Hattie Thompson, Belle Willis, Alma Thompson, Gladys Thompson.
Emory was a veteran of the armed forces
where he retired after 20 years of service in the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Ocie
Supthin; stepdaughters, Christine Yvonne Akers(Jack), Vickie Lee Carden, Tina
Marie Sims (Jimmy); stepson, Kenneth Michael Young(Geraldine); sister, Hazel
Dowdy, Charleston, WV; brother-in-law, Bucky Morris (Cindy), VA; Goddaughters,
Ashley Fioramonti, VA,and Stephanie Fisher, VA; also survived by many nephews,
nieces, grand- nephews, and grand- nieces who loved him.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday,
March 5, 2016 at Maberry Funeral Home with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating with
interment in the Jacksonville Cemetery with Military Rites by Floyd V.F.W. Post
#7854 and American Legion Post #127.
Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
