Verlie
Slaughter Hollandsworth, 93, from Indian Valley, went home to be with her Lord
on Wednesday, February 25, 2015. She was
born September 20, 1921 to Jesse Crockett & Mary Ellen Slaughter. She is preceded in death by her husband,
Elmer W. Hollandsworth, daughter Opal H. Harris, granddaughter Cheyanne Angle,
six sisters and two brothers.
Surviving
is a son, David W. Hollandsworth and wife Debbie of Springfield, VA; daughters,
Christine H. Hollins and husband Ronnie of Riner, Carol H. Miles of
Radford. Seven grandchildren; Joe
Harris, Jeff Harris, Cathy Angle, Angela Clifton, Michael Hollandsworth,
Matthew Hollandsworth, Amy Miles; 12 great-grandchildren; sister Mabel
Hollandsworth of Indian Valley; sister-in-law Bertha McAlexander of Dugspur; host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of Ms. Verlies’s life will
be Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Maberry Funeral Home with Rev.
Kenneth Poston and Rev. Danny Newman officiating. Interment will follow at the Slaughter
Cemetery, Indian Valley. The family will
receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday,
February 27, 2015 at Maberry Chapel.
Flowers are appreciated, however,
