Janet E. Slusher


 Janet E. Slusher, 78 of Copper Hill, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. She is preceded in death by her parents, JM “Pete” & Irene Harris; and brothers, Maurice Harris and Carl Harris.

She is survived by her fiancé, Howard Meredith; son, Jason Slusher (Stacy Bishop); daughters, Sherry Yopp and Lora Slusher (Brad Mullins); grandchildren, Acacia Freeman, TalaMaya Freeman, Rhiannon Mullins, Conner Cox (Robert Hylton), Chevy Cox, Matthew Slusher (Laura Cox) and Josh Slusher; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2025 in the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Eric Reece officiating. Interment will follow in the Jacksonville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Diana Weddle Burton


 

Diana Weddle Burton, 71 of Dublin, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025. She is preceded in death by her parents, Talmadge “Tap” & Edna Weddle; and brother, Tom “Dozer” Weddle.

She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Richard Burton; son, Todd Boothe; daughter, Whitney Branscome; step-daughter, Nikki Hubbard; grandchildren, Keegan Boothe, Carter Boothe, Kameron Boothe, Miranda Whittaker, McKenzie Clark, James Clark, Bronyne Hubbard, and Aaron Hubbard;  great-granddaughter, Mallory Gray; brother, Lester Weddle; special cousin, Glen Duncan; two nieces;  one nephew; and Special Son, Brian Fralin.

Diana will be remembered by all as the “Princess House Lady.”

Billy Brammer


 

Billy Brammer, 94, of Floyd, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, January 13, 2025. He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Iva Brammer.

Billy’s life was completely devoted to his Lord. He served as a deacon and Sunday School Teacher for many years at New Haven Baptist Church. 

He is survived by his children, Phyllis & Robert Hall, Marvin Brammer, Michael & Melissa Brammer, Paula & Ronald DeHart and Brendan Iribe & Luisa Espinosa; grandchildren, Ben Hall (Kelly), Joel Hall (Kendra), Tiffany Moore (Joey), Savannah Brammer, Jackson Brammer, Jameson Brammer, Jacob Haus, Christina Branson (Michael), Alexis Valerga (Shelton) and Amelia Iribe; step-grandchildren, Eric, Mark, Pam and Amy; great-grandchildren, Brookelyn, Dylan, Madelyn, Jocelyn, Tinsley, Aiden, Aubree, Levi, Ethan, Landon, Rylee and Lincoln; numerous step great-grandchildren; and sister & brother-in-law, Sue & Rev. Ronald Young. 

Billy loved being a farmer. At the age of 15, he left Floyd to go work on a dairy farm. After many years of milking cows, he then went into beef farming. He enjoyed mowing and raking hay, even at the age of 93. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at New Haven Baptist Church with Pastor Allen Agee officiating. Interment will follow in the Cannaday Cemetery.

Axten Xavier Bullins

Axten Xavier Bullins, one day old, of Indian Valley. went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 10, 2025.

He is survived by his parents, Christopher Bullins & Brittany Vaught; and brother, Jimmy Bullins.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2025 in the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Roy Turpin officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. A private interment will be held.

Joyce Ann Linville

 

Joyce Ann Linville, 71 of Willis, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, William K. Linville; and sister, Janet Brand.

Per Joyce’s wishes, there will be no services held.

Josephine Helen Bain, 82 of Check, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. She is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Francis Bain, Jr.; and siblings, Anderson Guynn, Wiley Guynn, William Guynn, Beulah Goad, Bonnie Bonds, Nonnie Bain, and Viola Ayers.

She is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law, David Lee Guynn, Floyd Lane Bain, Charles Edward & Erica Bain, and Bobby Wayne & Sarah Bain; daughter, Maria Hancher; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Jessie Guynn; brother-in-law, Dale Bain; sisters-in-law, Deborah & Jimmy Bowyer and Cathy & Charlie Hall; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Noon on Thursday, January 9, 2025 in the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Bond officiating. Interment will follow in the Ambrose Cox Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until Noon prior to the service at the funeral home.
