Emmie May Conner left this world on Friday, October 31, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Emmie was born on September 18, 1927 along with a twin brother, Lemmie. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Della Conner; husband, Ruben Conner; son, Harless Conner; grandson, Tony Cox; brothers, Lemmie and Arthur; and sister, Minnie.
Emmie enjoyed spending time with family, working jig saw puzzles, listening to music, and reading. Her greatest passion was making quilts. She spent many years making quilts and donating them to friends and family. She found joy in the simple things in life. Emmie had a great sense of humor and had the sweetest smile.
Emmie is survived by her daughters, Linda Francisco, Mary Noble (Joe), and Kathy McKay (Steve); grandchildren, Lynn Beltran, JoAnn McGlothlin, Peggy Francisco, Brenda Parker, Michael Noble, Bobby McKay, and Steven McKay; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; special niece, April Wade (Steven); and many special family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2025 in the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Steven Wade officiating. Interment will follow at Head of the River (Old Salem) Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. A meal of fellowship will follow the interment in the church basement.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her
daughter, Linda and her late husband, Melvin, for making it possible for Emmie
to spend her last years at home. We would also like to extend our sincere
appreciation to her caregivers, Linda Francisco, Lynn Beltran, JoAnn McGlothlin, Crystal Black,
April Wade, and her very favorite, Kiana Black. She loved you all very much!
