Winnie Quesenberry Vaughn



Winnie Quesenberry Vaughn, 80, of Willis, departed this life on Thursday evening March 12, 2015 at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center.
                           
She was born on February 3, 1935 and was the youngest child of the late E.L. and Edna Quesenberry. She was also preceded in death by her brother Harless Quesenberry. She was a loving, caring, and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Gene B. Vaughn; Sons and Daughters-In-Law, Danny and Carol Vaughn, Jeff and Rhonda Vaughn, and Greg Vaughn of Willis; Daughter and Son-In-Law, Melissa and Robbie Dalton all of Willis, VA.  Her grandchildren were the love of her life and include, Matthew Vaughn, Bradley Vaughn, Jodie Vaughn, Katelyn Vaughn, Blake Dalton, Ashley Vaughn, and Braden Dalton; Brother and Sister-in-law, Cobern & Louise Quesenberry of Floyd, VA; Sisters, Iressa Fawcett of Fresno, CA, Rosa Pauline Stout of Radford, VA; Sister-In-Law Virgie Quesenberry of Floyd, VA.   

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Randy McDaniel, Pastor Roy Turpin, and Rev. Graham Mitchell officiating.  Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Willis. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Maberry Funeral Home Chapel.

Reba Boyd Higgs



Reba Aletha Boyd Higgs, 92, of Willis, went home to be with her Lord, Thursday, March 12, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Estole Higgs.



She is survived by son, Jerry Higgs; daughter & son-in-law, Joyce & Dennis Thompson; grandson, Joshua Thompson;  sisters, Maretha Lester, Blanch Quesenberry, Ruby Simpkins; numerous nieces and nephews. Also special friends Martha & Charlie Allen, Steven Wright, Dwayne Allen and family, and Susan Molley and family.



Funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Maberry Funeral Home with Dr. Ricky Atkins officiating.  Interment will be at Capt. George Quesenberry Cemetery.  Family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Maberry Chapel.

Lelia Frances Pochick Poff



Lelia Frances Pochick Poff, 75, of Copper Hill, died Monday, March 9, 2015 at her home.



Born In Wolfe WVA, she is preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Lillie Frances Johnson Pochick, her brothers Raymond Pochick and Mike Pochick Jr., and her sister Louise Marie Pochick.



She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Wendell Winston Poff; Son, Wendell Kevin Poff and daughter-in-law, Cynthia V. Poff of Roanoke, Va.:  Daughters Kimberly E. Poff of Copper Hill, VA and Karen P. Wilson and son-in-law James E. Wilson of Check, VA; Grandson, Cody W. Carico of Rocky Mt. VA; Granddaughter, Ashley P. Krawchison and grandson-in-law Michael Krawchison of Bent Mt, VA; Grandson, A. Jordan Poff of Roanoke.



A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 2:00p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Floyd, VA.



In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated and her cremated remains will be interred at Restvale Cemetery, Copper Hill, VA.

James Paul Brennan



James Paul Brennan, 67, of Floyd, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015.  He was preceded in death by his father, George Francis Brennan, mother, Lillian Rose Brennan and his wife Pamela Patricia Brennan. He was a devoted member of the Stonewall House of prayer.  He was a loving and dedicated  son-in-law, father and grandfather.



He is survived by son, Jesse Lee Brennan; daughters Kristen Ann Brennan and fiancé Sherman Weddle and Kaylynn Lillian Oliver and husband Jacob Oliver; Special mother-in-law, Pat Furlong; Grandson Joshua Matthew Oliver.



Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Maberry Funeral Home  with Rev. Danny Whitlock officiating.  Interment will follow in the Jacksonville cemetery.   Family will receive friends Saturday, March 8, 2015 from 6pm-9pm at Maberry Chapel.

Minnie Branscome Vaughn


Minnie Branscome Vaughn, 98, of Willis, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 4, 2015.

She was cherished by her children, grandchildren and friends and will be greatly missed. She was a homemaker, farmer, and also a life-time member of the Buffalo Mt. Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents,  Caleb and Maude Dalton Branscome; her husband,  Garver H. Vaughn; two sons, Gene A.Vaughn and Earl R. Vaughn.

She is survived by her son, David Vaughn and wife Nancy, of Warsaw, VA; daughter, Jo Ann Wright and husband Ronnie of Lynchburg, VA.; Daughters-In-Law, Linda Vaughn of Willis, VA., and Sharon Parr of Warsaw, VA.; Grandchildren, Robert Vaughn and wife Vicki of Rutherglen, VA., Janice Bolton and husband Mark of Harrisonburg, VA., Bradley Vaughn and wife Pat of Willis, VA., David Vaughn and wife Angela of Farnham, VA., Glen Vaughn of Warsaw, VA., Gary Vaughn and wife Lexie of Albuquerque, NM., Stephen Vaughn and wife Crystal of Warsaw, VA., Mark Vaughn and wife Jessica of Warsaw, VA., Andy Lucy and wife Christy of Forest, VA., and Alex Lucy and wife Amy of Lynchburg, VA.

The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Varner officiating. Interment will be in the Vaughn-Hylton Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to service.
