Chester Paul Clower, 98 of Roanoke, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Lois Anne Clower; parents, Willard & Evelyn Clower; and sisters, Janet Clower Nester and Betty C. Moles.
Paul was born in Check, Virginia and served in the United States Navy from April 29, 1946 until March 3, 1948. He worked for AEP for 38 years before his retirement on May 1, 1990. He was part of the Blue Bird Society, was a long-time volunteer with Meals on Wheels, and an avid Rook player.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Clower; sons & daughters-in-law, Randy & Abby Clower and Scott & Alanna Clower; daughter & son-in-law, Becky & Tim Wiles; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sisters & brother-in-law, Donna Welch and Phyllis & Percy Wilson.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 in the Jacksonville Cemetery with Allen Nester officiating.
