Phillip H. Weddle, 84 of Willis,
formerly of Bassett, VA., passed away December 5, 2016. He was born
June 25, 1932 to Roy and Lyda Weddle and
grew up in Willis,Virginia. He served in the Coast Guard and retired from
Bassett Mirror Company after 30 years of service. He retired to work on his tree farm in
Willis, VA.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years,
Betty Helm Weddle; daughters, Melissa Weddle and son-in-law, Garet Lahvis,
Susanne Thomas, Joyce Weddle; grandchildren, Ahren and Mahala Lahvis; siblings, Wanda Poore,
Jimmy Weddle (Sadie), Katie Bennett, Lincoln Weddle (Jane), Corvin Weddle
(Angie), Glenda Vest(Roger); numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00
p.m., Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Buffalo Mt. Presbyterian Church with Rev.
Edwin Lacey officiating with interment to follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery on
the family farm. Family will receive
friends 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Maberry Funeral
Home.
