Drayton Lee Mabry, 96 of Indian Valley road,
passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2016. He was the son of Fred Lee and
Myrtle Haley Mabry. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Rosa
Mabry, and his sister Velma Akers.
He was a member of Gethsemane Baptist
Church in Radford. He was the owner of Mabry’s Grocery for 40 plus years, and his
passion was running his country store, sometimes starting at 4:00 a.m.
He is survived by two nieces, Sonya
Regan and Kathy Benedetto; two nephews, Neville Smith and Ramsey Gallimore; who
cared for Drayton during his later life. Special thanks to the English Meadow
Staff and Good Samaritan Staff.
Funeral service will be held at noon on
Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Gethsemane Baptist Church with Pastor Ersell Alderman
officiating. The interment will follow in the Sunset Cemetery. The family will
receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon prior to the service. A Masonic service will be held at the graveside by the Snowville Masonic Lodge #159.
