George William Shelor of Floyd, Va passed away on
February 3, 2016 after a brief illness. He is predeceased by his wife, Doris Elaine Scales. He is
survived by his children, Beth Shumaker (Bruce) Richmond; Carl Shelor (Cherie), and David
Shelor; both from Floyd. There are five grandchildren and one great grandchild. George was
a retired farmer and millwright and served in the Army during WWII. A memorial service will be
held on May 14, 2016 at the Floyd VFW Post 7854, 186 Epperly Mill Rd., Floyd, VA 24091 at
11:00 a.m. Special thanks go out to the staff members
at Warm Hearth in Blacksburg where George resided for the past few years.
