Chlonetia Martin Thompson, 92 of Floyd,
passed away Sunday, November 29, 2015.
She was predeceased by her sister, Treatise Webb; brothers, Elvin Martin
and Benson Martin.
Remembered for her extraordinary
cooking, she loved preparing meals for family and especially taking food to
workers for her husband at the station and the hayfield. She was loving and devoted to her husband,
children and grandchildren. Famously
known as the “cake Lady” in her church family.
She is survived by the love of her life
for 76 years, Arlie R. Thompson, whom
she has been married to for 73 years;
children, Dale Thompson (Liz), Brenda Thompson Weeks, R.J. Thompson (Korene),
Linda Diane T. Midkiff (Randal), Danny Thompson (Martha); sister, Mavin Steele
(Jack); brother-in-law, Elmer L. Webb;sister-in-law, Corinne Martin;Seven
grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three step-great
grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00
a.m., Thursday, December 3, 2015 at
Salem Primitive Baptist (Head of the River) with Elder Carl Terry and Elder
Larry Hollandsworth officiating.
Interment will follow in the Restvale Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to
4:00 p.m and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Maberry Funeral
Home.
