Troy
Lee Buckner, 78 of Cana, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2019. He is preceded
in death by his parents, Edward & Opal Buckner; sons, Ronald Buckner, Timmy
Buckner, and Roger Buckner; brother, Willie Buckner; and sister, Polly Huff.
Troy
worked for Payne logging for 35 years in Ararat, VA.
He
is survived by his wife, Jo Anne Buckner; son, Micheal Buckner; daughter &
son-in-law, Sheila & John DeVault; step-children & spouses, Shawn &
Wendy Kehley, Brian & Brittany Sawyers, Davey & Amanda Sawyers, Tracy
& Laura Sawyers, and Sandra Sebastian & boyfriend Billy Lane;
grandchildren, Taylor DeVault, Isaac Buckner, Montia Gaylean, Brittany Sawyers,
Hayden Sawyers, Christian Whittaker, Ashley Sawyers, Mason Sawyers, Brandie
Dalton, Angie Scales, Sierra DeVault, Nichols DeVault, Billy Lane, Jr.;
great-grandchildren, Jonathan Buckner, Jaycee Dalton, Honesty Atkins, Skylar
Kehley, Kaylee Dalton, Aiden Sawyers, Brayden Sawyers, Kaden Dalton, Nichols
Sawyers, Daniel Scales, Dixie Sebastian, and Brody Scales; sisters &
brother-in-law, Peggy Underwood, and Madalene & Alfred Cox; and several
nieces and nephews.
Funeral
service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at the Indian
Valley Church of God with Pastor Kenneth Poston officiating. Interment will
follow in the Captain George Quesenberry Cemetery. The family will receive
friends from Noon – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Flowers
are appreciated or donations may be made to the funeral home for funeral
expenses.
