Mr. Ray
Stanley Vest, age 87, of Waycross, GA died early Wednesday morning January 17,
2018 at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross following a short illness. Born August 28, 1930 in
Roanoke VA, he was a son of the late Hubert Wade and Beulah Marie Medley
Vest. He grew up and lived many years in Virginia where he was retired
from the state of Virginia as a custodian with Virginia Tech. After retirement,
he lived in Maryland and South Carolina before moving to Waycross in 2008. In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Richard
Vest. Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Helen and David Huff of
Blackshear, GA; 3 nephews, Chris Huff (wife Laura), Mike Huff, and Gary Huff
(wife Pamela), all of Blackshear; a great niece, Katie Burgess (husband Austin)
of Blackshear; 3 great nephews, Chris Huff and Robbie Huff, both of MT.
Pleasant, SC. and Tim Huff of Blackshear; and several other relatives. A graveside service will
take place on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 2 PM at Restvale Cemetery with
Pastor Darren Landon officiating. Family will receive friends from 12:30 to
1:30 p.m. at Maberry Funeral Home.
