Frank
Douglas Clement, 76, of Floyd, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015. He was born on December 28, 1938 in Lynchburg,
Virginia to Frank and Bessie Smith Clement.
After losing his parents he moved to Floyd. Douglas attended Virginia
Tech before serving four years in the Army in Ethiopia. After his service he returned to Floyd to
care for his Uncle and Aunt for the remainder of their lives.
He is
survived by cousins Margaret A. Smith of Floyd, Ann Smith of Richmond, Mabel
Hawkins of Courtland; nephews Scott Smith and family of Snowville and David
Smith and family of Check; Special friends Arnold and Rita Howard of Floyd.
A
graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 4, 2015 at
Jacksonville Cemetery with Rev. Steve Johnson officiating with Military Rites by Floyd V.F.W. Post #7854 and American Legion Post #127.
In lieu
of flowers family request donations may be made to The Floyd Historical Society
or The Montgomery-Floyd Regional Library.
