Sylvia
Rorrer Hancock, 92 of Floyd, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019. She
is preceded in death by her husband, Reginald Hancock; son, Marvin Hancock; and
daughter-in-law, Lois Hancock. Also preceding her in death were her parents,
McKinley & Cora Rorrer; sisters, Recie Turner and Reva Belcher; brothers,
Ervin, Claude, and Leonard Rorrer.
Survivors
include her son & daughter-in-law, Samuel & Brenda Hancock; her
daughter & son-in-law, Joyce & Steve Duncan; grandchildren, Stephanie
(Steve) Link, Tracy Hancock, Stephen Hancock, Billy (Erica) Hancock, Susan
(Ray) Sowers, Amanda Montgomery, and Heather (Steve) Higgs; 21
great-grandchildren; 9 great great-grandchildren; and brother, Sebert (Jean)
Rorrer.
We
would like to thank hospice and her main caregivers, Morganne McDowell and
Brenda Hancock for the wonderful care they gave our mother in her final days.
Funeral
service will be held at 2: 00 p.m. on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at the Maberry
Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jason Pratt officiating. Interment will follow
in the Topeco Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. on
Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the funeral home.
