Vada
Alma Akers Reed, 98 of Alum Ridge, went to be with the Lord Monday, March 5,
2018. She is preceded in death by her
husband, Frank James Reed; parents, Lillie and Roy Sidney Akers; two brothers;
and son Kenneth Wayne Reed; granddaughter, Amber Marie Akers.
She
is survived by her sons, Troy Reed, Galen Reed; daughters, Florene Lester
(E.J.), Arlene Dowdy (Robert); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and
great-great grandchildren.
Funeral
service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Pleasant Valley
Church of the Brethren with Pastor Roy Turpin and Pastor David Wright
officiating with interment in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. to 8:00
p.m., Friday, March 9, 2018 at Maberry Funeral Home and family will also
receive friends Saturday from Noon to
2:00 p.m. at the church prior to the
funeral service.
