Roger Neil Hollandsworth, 64 of Floyd, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Rowena Albert Hollandsworth; brother, Don Wayne Hollandsworth; father-in-law, Elvin S. Reed.
Roger loved the Floyd County community. He was a graduate of Floyd County High School and Virginia Tech. He was an avid fan of Tech Athletics and FCHS Basketball. He worked to support the Chance Harman Memorial Fund. He was a life member of over 40 years of the Floyd County Rescue Squad where he was the treasurer for most of that time. He was the owner of the Floyd Xpress Market for 33 years.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jennifer R.
Hollandsworth; son, Dustin N. Hollandsworth (Sabrina Schulze and her children,
Shauna, Garrett, Kylie, Wyatt, Arick); granddaughters, Lilah and Emberly Hollandsworth;
brothers & sisters-in-law, Ronald & Geraldine Hollandsworth and Randall
& Reva Hollandsworth; uncle, Bo Albert (Audrey); mother-in-law, Velma R.
Reed; brother-in-law, Darrel Reed (Helen); nieces, Stephanie Nelson (Dale),
Hilary Hedrick (Patrick), & Amanda Hollandsworth; nephews, Zach
Hollandsworth, Brannon Reed; great-niece, Averie Nelson; great-nephews, Brody
Nelson, Corvin Hedrick; and special friends, Wayne Goff and Micky Hatcher. Roger's special friends are endless and each were so important to him.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 1,
2022 at the Topeco Church of the Brethren with Brian Harman officiating. The
interment will follow at Jacksonville Cemetery. Roger was a casual type person and his family requests everyone dress casual for his service.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 30, 2022 and 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 31, 2022 at Maberry Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Floyd County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 257, Floyd, VA 24091.
