Freeda Bartel Sowers, 91 of Floyd, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2021. She is preceded in death by her husband, Noah F. Sowers; parents, William Lawrence & Laura E. Thomas Bartel; sister & brother-in-law, Essie & Marion D. Long; twin sister, Majorie D. Bartel; brother, Harold Bartel; and brother-in-law, James Thornton.
She is survived by her children & their spouses, Alice S. & Wayne Bradbury, Curtis R. & Loyce Sowers, and Mark A. & Teresa Sowers; grandchildren, Tracy Facteau, Matt Bradbury, Chase Lowe (Kittie), Ciera Boyd (Logan) and Shasta Sowers (Adam Wilson); great-grandchildren, Anna and Henry Boyd; sister, Tressie B. Thornton; and nephews, Geary Long and Tim Long.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2021
in the Laurel Branch Church of the Brethren with Pastor Angela Carr
officiating. Interment will follow in the Laurel Branch Cemetery. The family
will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 in the
Maberry Funeral Home Chapel.
