Vasie S.
Simpkins, 90 of Indian Valley, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019. She is
preceded in death by her loving husband of 72 years, Victor C. Simpkins,
parents, Charlie & Lettie Sutphin; brothers, Benny and Lincoln Sutphin; and
sister, Lassie Hylton.
She is
survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy Simpkins (Barbara), Tommy
Simpkins (Stephanie); daughter and son-in-law, Trish Simpkins Williams (Kelly);
grandchildren, Huey Simpkins, Suzetta Simpkins, Jenny Thompson (Randy), Bree Tate
(Tyler), Shane Parnell, Destiny Parnell, Kellie Williams, Nicci Akers (Chris),
Marina Stone (Zach), Joshua Young, and Corey Young (Jill); 9 great-grandchildren;
brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rodney Simpkins (Janet), Demi Simpkins
(Etta Mae); sister-in-law, Sarah Akers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral
service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the Maberry
Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bob Akers, Pastor Dale Akers, and Pastor Joe
Cox officiating. The interment will follow in the Captain George Quesenberry
Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the
service at the funeral home.
In lieu of
flowers, donations may be made to the Captain George Quesenberry Cemetery, c/o
Vera Hall 2128 Macks Mtn Rd NW, Indian Valley VA 24105.
