Beulah Austin Whitlock Vest


Beulah Austin Whitlock Vest passed peacefully to her heavenly home on September 22, 2017.  She was a devout Christian and an active member of the Stonewall Methodist/Brethren Church for 40 years. She is preceded in death by her loving parents George and Margie Austin; her late husband William Whitlock; two brothers, Hanford Austin and Arnold (Maddie) Austin.
She is survived by her loving husband and angel of mercy of 24 years Shelven (Sonny) Vest.  It’s with the greatest of admiration the family wants to recognize the love, care and dedication that Sonny provided our Mother. In addition she is survived by two sons; Rev Daniel W. (Sabrina) Whitlock and David (Kathy) Whitlock; daughter, Debra (Charlie) Statzer; two stepsons, Darryl (Robin) Vest and John (Mary) Vest; step-daughter, Annette (Mike) Battle; three grandsons, Waylon Whitlock, Ethan (Jennifer) Whitlock and Will (SaZha) Statzer; three step-grandsons, Eric (Amanda) Janney, Travis (Jesse) Boyd and Kenny Moore; three step-granddaughters, Kimberly (Andrew) Nichols, Amanda (Joey) Belcher and Alexis Vest; two brothers, Dr. Fred Austin and William Versal Austin; numerous loving nephews, nieces and great- grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Maberry Funeral Home with Pastor Darren Landon, Rev. Daniel W. Whitlock and Dr. Fred Austin          officiating with interment in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.   Family will receive friends 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Maberry Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank all the caregivers and the Carilion Clinic Hospice staff for all their kind deeds and comforting care throughout Beulah’s illness.  Flowers are welcomed but in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Carilion Clinic Hospice, 1615 Franklin Road SW, Roanoke, VA 24016
