Sylvia "Ailleene" Peters Phillips

 

Sylvia “Ailleene” Peters Phillips, 87 of Floyd, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2022.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hampton Charles and Ibra Annie Underwood Peters; husband, Cecil Mont Phillips; brothers, Nelson, Marvin, and Sheldon Peters.

She is survived by her son, Ricky Lane Wimmer; sisters, Roma Lee Allen, Corrine Vest; two nieces and two nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Roy Turpin officiating. The interment will follow in the Vest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Annie Boothe Jones

 

Annie Boothe Jones, 92 of Floyd, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at her home.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Brady and Alma Boothe; husband, Leonard J. Jones; son-in-law, Paul Carroll; daughter, Linda J. Huff; siblings, Thelma Smith, Brady Boothe, Jr., Edna Moles, Virginia Graham, Estelle Shealor, Nancy Bragg, Jean Huff and Christine Horton.

She is survived by her children, Frances Carroll, Betty and Fred Bowyer, Shirley and David Yeatts, Janie Jones, Brenda and John Conroy, Jr., Laurie and Roger Hurt; grandchildren, Dale Phillips, James Phillips, Chad and Melissa Mills, Crystal and Derick Burton, Charles Carroll, John and Sierra Conroy, Ann Conroy, Angela Huff; great-grandchildren, Bailey Mills, Kenzie Mills, Jaxon Mills, Grace Burton, Kayleigh Burton, Letty Conroy; brothers, Jimmy and Betty Boothe, Joe and Mary Boothe; person in time of need to talk to was Graham Mitchell.

Mom’s passion was her love of her children and grandchildren. She was also known as “Granny” to anyone who came to her home. The cookie jar and fridge was open to anyone. She had the greenest thumb of anyone. Her yard was always in bloom with flowers, if anyone needed sewing she was the one and it was done with a smile.

Funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2022 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Graham Mitchell officiating. The interment will follow in Beaver Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Jack Keeling Moulton, Jr.

 

Jack Keeling Moulton, Jr., 69 of Willis, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2022. Jack was a former resident of Chesapeake Virginia, a graduate of Great Bridge High School, and Old Dominion University. He worked with Gideons International, spreading God’s word.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack Keeling Sr. and Sylvia Stone Moulton.

He is survived by his sons, Joseph Lee Moulton (Bobbie), Jackson Donovan Moulton (Madison Viar); siblings, Dr. Patti Gayle Moulton, Philip Jason Moulton (Christina); grandchildren, Carter Lee Moulton, Isabelle Ann Moulton, Ava Leann Moulton, and Preston Lee Moulton; nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at the Topeco Church with Pastor Ted Turner officiating. The interment will follow in the Topeco Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Daisy Juanita Manning


 

 

Daisy Juanita Manning, 82 of Ferrum, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at her home. She was an RN and a world traveler, traveling to all U.S. states and all Canadian Provinces, she did missionary work in Nigeria, Russia and Haiti and she was a telephone operator for NASA in the early 60’s

She is preceded in death by her parents, Fondley Derr and Zennie Evelyn Ballard Jones; sister, Brenda Crawford.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Brennan Green, Patrick Green (Jennifer), Egan Green (Cristina); grandchildren, Deklan, Gavin, and Kal-El Green; sister, Lois Sprouse.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Maberry Funeral Home with Pastor Sean Couch officiating. The interment will follow at Jacksonville Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Lee Elbert McPeak, 83 of Floyd, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022.

He is preceded in death by daughter, Ashley Hannah Lawson.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Irene C. McPeak; brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Judy McPeak, Reece and Geneva McPeak, Denny and Judy Wells; children, Amy and Jeff Belshan, Amanda and Johnny Cox, Alison Huff; grandchildren, Hannah and Bryce Altizer, Matt and Camey Belshan, Abi and Corey Voss, Sarah Belshan, Zoe Belshan, Rebecca Cox, Emily Cox, Laura Cox, Liam Cox, Justin Huff, Ashton Huff; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Maberry Funeral Home with Pastor Randy St.Clair and Pastor Stephen Lackey officiating. The interment will follow at Big Sand Cemetery with Military Rights by The Army National Guard. The Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
